I have a feature request …

I have a feature request for Apple TV.

I wish I could ask Siri to restart my Apple TV. I can't figure out the right voice command. When I want to reboot it, I have to go to Settings -> System -> Restart. This would save me a lot of time!

But wait, why do I want to restart something that was designed to be always on, and if not, be in a sleep mode?

Oh no! Disney+ has detected an issue with HDCP protection. You can try to solve it by restarting the device. If the problem persists, try using a different HDMI cable or bypass your audio system and connect the device directly to the TV.

I guess the Mouse will never hire me now, but it's the Disney+ app. At least once per two days, but usually much more frequently, it throws an error saying something about media protection, and a shortcut I don't really (want to) understand. It somehow goes crazy while being in the sleep mode, and loses track of the connected HDMI devices. The easy fix? Restarting my Apple TV.

99% of feature requests are like this - just symptoms of a deeper problem. The root cause here is either the Disney+ app or something between my TV and the Apple TV. Maybe what I need is a different cable, I have no idea. But what always works is rebooting my Apple TV. And hence as a user who does not understand media protection technology, my feature request would be aimed at the easy fix, because the solution of the root cause is beyond my current understanding.

Always ask "why?". Multiple times. Ruthlessly focus on the root cause. I don't need a new feature. I just need the existing ones to be reliable.
